Reciprocating Vibration analysis and control takes experience and knowledge of
working compression systems to accurately determine the root of the
problem. We apply our field experience to make practical observations and solutions trying to keep the realities of installing vibration or pulsation control in mind. Changes to existing bracing or adding additional braces are simple steps that are typically taken at the field level to make quick changes to bring the vibration into safe levels.
Some changes would require more engineering to existing pulsation controls with either the addition of orifice plates
at stratigic locations or the total remanufacture of bottles. Pulsation
testing is performed at specific locations and levels are compared to API 618 guidelines.
Previous analysis groups suggested pulsation control for a chronic vibration problem. Vibration levels were near 2x industry guideline on multiple test points on the unit and many attempts to add bracing to the scrubbers were made by field staff.
Detailed analysis by EMS Inc. formulated this repair that reduced vibration levels that "have been that way for 20 years!" EMS Inc. knows the difference and how to find the solutions!
